Seeking His Face

Yet you have not called on me, Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, Israel.” ~Isaiah 43:22

What does this mean?  I’ve been thinking about this verse the past couple of days and a couple of thoughts ran through my mind.   The word ‘wearied’ means to exhaust oneself in whatever job, study, or activity one is doing, and the verse, “Seek the Lord while He may be found” also came to mind.

I remember a few weeks ago the Spirit asked if I loved Him enough to seek His face.  My only honest answer was not as much as I should.  I haven’t exhausted myself in seeking Him out, so I can enter into the rest which Jesus speaks of in the gospels, “Come to me you who are WEARY and HEAVY BURDENED and I will give you REST”.

He’s still calling to me and all of us.  If we call upon Him, He will answer us and be with us in trouble and satisfy us beyond what any of us can think.

Lord forgive me for not seeking you out and not wearing myself to come to you for sweet rest.  I know you will do a good thing and will remember the past no more as you’ve promised.  Thank you Father, in your name Jesus I ask amen.

Till Jesus wills it,
Godspeed!
